The Flintlock Inn is a traditional country pub, located on the Devon and Somerset boarder, in the Blackdown Hills, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Flintlock Inn is a charming country pub, full of character, with parts of the building date back to the 16th Century. The stone walls and exposed beams are complimented by tasteful and modest decor, creating a relaxing ambience.
We are very happy to be able to welcome customers back into the pub, although with a few changes for everyone's safety. All our tables, inside and out are distanced at least 2 meters apart to enable social distancing and we use serving tables to prevent close contact. We do ask that whenever possible tables are booked in advance, this also helps us to ensure social distancing.
Hand sanitiser is provided throughout the establishment. All staff are provided with PPE and masks or visors are worn when we cannot keep a full 2 meters away.
From 14th September, we are unable to accommodate groups of more than 6 (unless you are from a single household + bubble).
We have a delightful and secluded beer garden at the back of the pub.
The garden is full of plants and flowers and provides a tranquil and pleasant setting to enjoy a drink or lunch.
We have a new outside terrace eating area, which can be easily accessed from the road and is a perfect spot for lunch in the sun.
Hassen and Harriet Said, and Harriet's mother, Ann Sealey took over the Flintlock Inn in February 2019, and jointly operate the pub as a family.
They are supported by a team of hardworking front of house staff, dedicated to making sure that your visit is both enjoyable and comfortable. In the kitchen, our head chef leads a small team who are passionate about producing good quality and wholesome food.
We have 2 real ales on tap, Otter Bitter from the Devon Otter Brewery alongside another cask ale, currently Tribute, a Cornish pale ale.
We have a wide selection of spirits and liqueurs, including a growing collection of Gins.
Alongside our extensive soft drink selection, we also offer alcohol free and low alcohol beer and wine.
Children are welcome at the Flintlock Inn, we have a children's menu available and are happy to provide smaller portions of the main menu items wherever possible, please just ask.
